Software Developer

(location: Trinidad and Tobago)

Medullan Software Developers are responsible for delivering a component of custom software through the full software development lifecycle, including interaction design, solution definition, implementation, and support. In this role, you will work in a collaborative environment to develop enterprise-level applications using object oriented and service oriented technologies. You will interact with clients to understand their business, their business needs and how best to implement technology to meet those needs as you contribute to the full lifecycle of projects from solution definition through to implementation. You will be responsible for producing quality custom software as well as collaborating with a team of 1-4 software developers, producing plans to accomplish project work and partnering on the execution of those plans to achieve the project end goals.

Our Requirements:

  • 1-3 years experience with commercial-grade software development.
  • A BS or MS in computer science, or equivalent, is expected - but experience tells all!
  • Experience with enterprise grade object oriented and service oriented architectures
  • Knowledge of OOAD, UML, Agile, Design Patterns and TDD a plus

Character and Interests:

  • Ability to multi-task, absorb new technologies, and work as a leader and a team player
  • Working with business clients, facilitating discussions, assimilating processes, issues and needs
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability, "can do" attitude
  • A strong interest in software consulting, product design, healthcare and life sciences

Senior Software Developer

Technical Architect

(locations: Cambridge, MA, USA & Trinidad and Tobago)

A Medullan Technical Architect is responsible for leading the technical implementation of custom enterprise applications through the full software development lifecycle, from beginning (business development) through implementation to end (deployment). In this role, you will interface with prospective clients in order to support our sales team as they generate and close new business, assist in gathering requirements from client stakeholders and produce enterprise grade designs in a collaborative environment. You will set technical direction for your team by defining and advocating best practices for new and existing technologies, you will drive the creation of estimates and plans for your team, and you will lead the team to delivery of a quality result for your client.

This is a great growth opportunity for someone with proven software development leadership experience (e.g. a senior software developer) who is looking to advance their career into a technical architecture role!

Our Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience in an enterprise programming environment using Java or .NET
  • Adept at providing consulting services to external clients and prospects
  • Expect to spend 25% of your time in a business development capacity!
  • Hands on experience with modern web technologies (AJAX, Struts, Ruby on Rails, jQuery, etc)
  • Hands on experience with development methodologies such as Agile and Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience as either a senior developer or technical lead
  • General knowledge of advanced database topics (data warehouse, SSIS, SSAS, etc)

Associate Project Manager

(locations: Cambridge, MA, USA & Trinidad and Tobago)

Medullan Associate Project Managers are responsible for owning the overall execution of an application development project to meet client requirements. In this role, you will extract and analyze business requirements and manage a 2-5 person team through a project that includes Design, Development, Deployment, and Maintenance/Support. You will also be expected to contribute to the growth & development of the project management community at Medullan by training others, sharing knowledge and best practices, as well as mentoring the individuals on your team and others.

Our Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience overall with at least 1 year experience in an Information Technology environment
  • A track record of delivery in a leading software product or consulting firm
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile, OOAD, and TDD are a plus
  • Flexibility to travel within the U.S. and internationally

General Manager

(location: Trinidad and Tobago)

Medullan, Inc. a Cambridge, MA based technology consulting firm is seeking a General Manager for our Trinidad office - Medullan Trinidad Limited. This individual should possess high personal integrity, professional drive, flexibility and leadership, and a track record managing a diverse team of high growth individuals towards building a remarkable company.

The General Manager will be overall responsible for the strategic planning that drives the rapid growth of our delivery capacity both in the local and international market. Responsibilities include oversight of the following areas: People Strategy, Operations, and Technical Operations. The individual will also need to partner with key delivery leads in both the Cambridge and TT offices to ensure success in the delivery of our consulting engagements, as well as our marketing and sales efforts.
Detailed areas of responsibility will include (but are not limited to):

People Strategy:

  • Drive the hiring needs that are in line with our aggressive growth targets
  • Oversee the creation and management of contracts for employees and subcontractors
  • Design and manage a first-class on-boarding experience for expatriates – both employees traveling permanently or temporarily to Medullan Trinidad Limited.
  • Provide structure, oversight and direct intervention when needed for career coaching and mentoring programs
  • Be the final point of escalation and resolution for interpersonal and other sensitive people-related issues
  • Manage performance improvement programs
  • Establish and maintain people performance tracking tools and other people information tools and systems
  • Provide People Strategy reports for the company's leadership team

Finance and Operations:

  • Drive operational planning
  • Manage benefits and health plans for all members of the company
  • Oversee the creation and management of contracts for third-party vendors including utility, insurance, cleaning, maintenance, repairs, building/facilities, corporate apartments, supplies, etc.
  • Liaise with Corporate Attorneys for any legal matters related to the operation
  • Ensure that all regulatory and general compliance reporting is accurate and timely
  • Be a senior point of escalation and relationship building for our partners and clients
  • Manage the issuance of employment and stock-option contracts and related forms
  • Give input and oversight into company budget and financial planning

Technical Operations: (Internal Information Systems)

  • Drive the continuous progression and expansion of our Technical Operations capabilities to one that consistently exceeds the expectations of our internal clients and measurably and scalably supports the company’s ability to deliver results for our clients
  • Develop an effective liaison strategy and set of working partnerships with U.S. counterparts to ensure that technical operations feedback is gathered and tasks are executed in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelors degree in Business Management [or related degree] from an accredited tertiary level institution
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in a similar executive or general management position
  • A track record of execution with the ability to effect and manage change and scalable growth
  • A strong leader with excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing operations in globally distributed environment is a plus
